How to tame your tresses after some fun in the sun

Wet hair should be shaken free of sand, the most common form of dirt. Conditioner should be applied and towel dried for a look that lasts for a few days. In terms of seawater, which can cause internal damage if hair is not washed immediately, keep in mind that it is best to wash hair in fresh, freshwater as quickly as possible after spending time in the ocean.

After traveling to a far off beach, go home and exfoliate skin to remove sand and the ancient dead skin cells can clog hair follicles to promote hair growth. However, bacteria and salt in the ocean can also contribute to acne and breakouts.

I had fun at the beach and now my hair is a tangle mess! I usually spend an hour giving my hair a trim and putting all my hair back up in a bun, but that's not going to work for now.

Here are some tips if this happens to you too:

- Get a deep conditioning treatment at the salon or at home from your hair care kit
- Trim your wet hair with a pair of scissor
- Wash with a clarifying shampoo twice
- Dry with a diffuser
- Brush your hair to make sure it's straight

I know one thing- I better have a change of hair-bangs before school tomorrow morning! One small concession is made- go to the beach with an intricate and complicated hair style in your hair.

Waves of flowing locks cascading down, unfettered, free. The beach is a haven for untamed strands, never confined by wig, tresses, or updo. But for those with short hair, not so much.

So first, use a leave-in conditioner to nourish the hair and keep it detangled, because wisps of wind can wreak havoc on desiccated locks. Apply sunscreen, but not petroleum jelly and sunscreen at the same time, as they cancel each other out.

Now carefully plait your hair so that it is underneath your turtleneck or bandana. Twist the hair and clip it to make sure it doesn’t fall out. The two-strand plait is a classic that can be used as a base and can help with rehabbing from rough, tousled waves to tamed beach strands. Tie it off with an elastic band, and there you have it!
