Summer cocktails for long beach days

Summer cocktails for long beach days

Posted by Brad Meraly on

Few things are better than a luxurious day at the beach. Perhaps the best part of an afternoon spent on a shoreline is the chance to try lots of different cocktails. For a crowd of beach rave enthusiasts, a pitcher drink that requires a little prep work is the key.

Keeping a 'beach bod' is a big deal during the summer. That sweaty and sun-kissed skin is a mighty powerful force, and the more you can find ways to make it sustainable, the better.

See, the thing is, a desert goddess doesn't need much to stay fresh. Sand is more than enough, so spare yourself the salt spray.

You probably already have enough ingredients to craft a killer drink. Here's what you need:

  • Kilner Jar (Indian shop)
  • A lemon
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Mint (make sure it's in a container)
  • A fresh cucumber
  • Yoghurt (Vero)
  • Your favourite rum
  • Soda water
  • A few ice cubes

Pour some yoghurt in to the jar. Add lemon, turmeric, ginger, mint, cucumber and your favourite rum. It's up to you how much you'd like. Add the cucumber slices from your drink (just like slicing them for your sandwich), and seals up the jar. Mix it up as well! Remove the lid and fill the glasses with soda and ice cubes. Your taste buds will thank you for it with every sip!

Some more drink suggestions? Sip away on these delicious cocktails that have beach written all over:

Thure Three

Pair a Thai Baht with an optional shot of espresso and fresh lime juice for an extra zesty twist.

Turbo Coconut

A classic composition from the Caribbean with banana liqueur to make a Mojito with a tropical twist.

Hula Margarita

Turn any blended drink into a memorable cocktail by topping it off with mango puree and a splash of Red Bull.
